Police officers at Boston's Logan Airport now are armed and ready with more than just guns. They have BlackBerries in their holsters. The Massachusetts Port Authority has issued the handheld wireless devices to state police officers patrolling the airport for spot checks of passengers, airport workers, and vehicles. The devices are equipped with Aether Systems' PocketBlue software that lets officers look up individuals or vehicles in the National Crime Information Center database in less than a minute to discover any outstanding warrants, prior convictions, or stolen-vehicle reports.
